                Since Independence of India has seen 14 full-time Prime Ministers (at the time of updating this post – as on October 15^th January 2019) and 15 in all. Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru of the Indian National Congress was the first Prime Minister of the independent India. Narendra Modi of the BJP is the current prime minister of India last vacated by Dr. Manmohan Singh of the UPA (Congress-led United Progressive Alliance) .
